This riding habit is inspired by Kathryn/Abigail’s outfit in Once Upon A Time, and also by riding habits from the 1600/1700’s.
Generally riding outfits were made for women when riding side-saddle, but I wanted to design a habit for someone who rides for practical uses (I don’t want to say ‘like a man’ >_>)
I honestly think that noblewomen may have ridden side-saddle, but given that there’s a little more equality between the sexes in Ferelden, I doubt that a woman riding conventionally would be a shock thing.
Still, I thought it would be good to design an outfit that still looks pretty swish, but has practical purposes too. So I took some inspiration from the old riding jackets, and instead of a full skirt, made a kind of a …coat-tail I guess, while having pants underneath. And awesome boots ya know.
